Le Beluga swingers club, in Ifs, is a good place to try-out when in the Calvados.
Whenever we travel, Aliki and I check out the local swinging scene. That is how we came across the Beluga swingers club. Situated on the outskirts of Caen, in Normandy, the Beluga is comfortably close to the city. It is a modern building set in an industrial zone, completely deserted in the evening. Once inside, however, the Beluga is a true surprise.

The Club
The Beluga is new, clean and spacious. The owners, Bruno and his lovely Russian wife, Elvira, are a pleasant couple who are present each and every evening to ensure the place is always shipshape.
Once inside you will find yourself in a large bar area, complete with a raised dance floor, a dancing pole and even a cage for steamy choreography. There are also plenty of sofas where to sip a quiet drink and a sizeable smoking area. Should you find yourself in need of extra stimulation, look out for the small cabinet of curiosities with a select range of sex toys for sale.
A discreet door leads from the bar and dance floor to the playrooms. There are two: the wet area, including a hammam and a swimming pool and the sex rooms. Each room has a different theme, dimmable lights, and a door to be closed should you wish some privacy. The BDSM cross just outside the playrooms is a sexy addition! Aliki and I had a thrilling moment observing three men playing with a busty blond strapped to it. At the back, the Beluga also offers a terrace with a heated jacuzzi.

Policies and clientele
The club insists on a strict shirt policy for men. I know because I was nicely asked to take off my sweater at the entrance. In all fairness, however, it is clearly stated on their website and I was provided with a replacement shirt on the spot. And, let’s face it, I did not keep the shirt on for long anyway.
As expected, the patronage of the Beluga was less international and varied than what you see in the big metropolitan swingers club. We had the distinct feeling that some of the clients were regulars who knew each other. Everybody was friendly and respectful and there was almost a sense of familiarity we had never experienced before. A great thing was the ratio of couples to single men. Bruno explained to us that he makes it a point to always have more couples in the club. For Aliki and me this was a big plus point!

Value for money
On a Friday we paid 35 EUR per couple, including a drink per person. In this sense, the Beluga is great value for money. Especially considering the state of its amenities. No food was provided, but Bruno told us that there are evenings with dining possibilities, at a different entry fee of course.
One last word…
