Sexual resolutions | Planning sex for the New Year
The time for sexual resolutions is upon us. Now, Yuletide declarations are not my thing, but it is a good period to rummage through your bag of sexual desires and make a line-up for the new year.
Having some sort of target maintains the momentum in your sexual life. It is also a good excuse to have a healthy exchange with your partner on your sexual fantasies. And trust me, planning sex is a beneficial habit -unless you become OCD about it!
365 days of good sex
This time last year, as fireworks spread out over the dreamy bay of Rio de Janeiro, I listed three sexual resolutions for 2018. I have since notched two of them, and came very close to ticking off also number 1 on that list. No matter, I will carry it over to 2019.
Regardless of how many of my sexual resolutions I kept and which fantasies came true, 2018 was a f*cking’ good year! Aliki and I grew a lot together sexually. We tried out new experiences, discovered new places, met new people…. together. And that togetherness made us stronger.
Was it all rough and tumble? Of course not! We had our ups and downs, whether it was distance apart (where modern technology came to the rescue) and periods when we were tired and opted to simply snuggle and laze in front of TV. But, all of it was part of our nurtured sexual space.
Here’s what I wish you for the New Year
I am sure that many of you also use these last days of the year to take stock of the past twelve months and tweak your lifestyle for the next. You might not be in the habit of making sexual resolutions. If not, allow me to wish you the following:
More sexual frankness
Talking to your partner about sex is the basis of a healthy sexual life. So, I wish you a bottomless source of openness that will allow you to share not only your mutual fantasies but also your limits and your worries. It’s the first step.
More Complicity
Sexual complicity is a continuous work in progress. Even when there is a good basis, the locomotive of sexual involvement needs maintenance to keep moving. So my second wish is for you to have plenty of unique moments with your partner that deepen your sexual complicity. The more you have, the closer you become, the more reassured you are and the more adventurous you become in your sexual life.
Simply More Sex
For all the talk, ultimately it is all about sex. As Woody Allen put it: “I don’t know the question, but sex is definitely the answer”. So I wish you plenty and plenty of questions for which good sex is the answer. Whatever the kind of sex you like: swinging or vanilla, steamy or romantic, between two or more, a healthy sexual life is a solid basis for a great relationship.

My New Year’s sexual resolutions for 2019
And for the sake of keeping tradition, here are my top three sexual resolutions for the new year:
More time in bed with Aliki: As our daily life takes over, sometimes we find ourselves having sex very late at night or early in the morning. It is still great, but nothing beats those couple of hours set aside for proper bed play!
Visiting Cap d’Agde: We have had too much to do last year to visit the Mecca of swinging and libertinage in Western France. But we have heard so many good stories that we absolutely have to pay a visit!
Going to a well-organised swingers party: Ideally one that involves a fantastic back-drop and dressing up, like the Madame O parties.
Aliki and I, wish you a healthy and sexy 2019, and if you want some ideas for sexual resolutions, check out Aliki’s post on 5 sexy things to do with your partner.
